The Medical Neuroscience Cluster-Conference “Work in Progress” brings together doctoral students from the four PhD and Doctoral Programs of the Medical Neuroscience Cluster—Neuroscience, Molecular Signal Transduction, Clinical Neurosciences, and Mental Health & Behavioural Medicine—to present and discuss their ongoing research.
Focused entirely on PhD and doctoral projects, this two-day event offers a unique opportunity to explore the range and depth of current neuroscience research within the cluster. While only doctoral students will present their work, the conference warmly welcomes researchers at all career stages to attend, engage, and provide feedback.
Participation is free of charge, but registration is required for all attendees to ensure smooth planning.
By submitting the abstract you select Preferred Type of Presentation and your Thematic Program.
Abstract submission will be open until November 30, 2025, there will be no extension.
The conference program will be curated by the program committee—including coordinators Prof. Johannes Hainfellner, Prof. Karlheinz Hilber, Prof. Paul Plener, Prof. Johannes Berger, and Cluster Speaker Prof. Sarah Melzer—based on project quality, thematic balance, and student preferences.
The final program will be published on December 19, 2025.
The Medical Neuroscience Cluster Conference will be accredited as continued medical education event within the diploma training program (DFP) of the Austrian Medical Chamber.
