Abstract
We are interested in how subcortical projection systems modulate neural dynamics underlying the brain’s remarkable adaptive abilities in ever-changing natural environments. We combine experimental and theoretical approaches to model how these flexible dynamics support cognitive functions such as attention, learning, and memory. By linking circuit-level activity to behavior, we aim to uncover the principles governing cognition in the intact brain and how their disruption contributes to disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
