Currently, 178 members from 16 preclinical centres/clinical departments form the active core of the Medical Neuroscience Cluster (MNC).
Represented disciplinces include the Center for Brain Research, Center for Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering, Center for Pathobiochemistry and Genetics, Center for Pathophysiology, Infectionology and Immunology, Center for Physiology and Pharmacology, Center for Public Health, Center for Anatomy and Cell Biology, Core Facilities, Department for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Department of Biomedical Imaging and Image-guided Therapy, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatriy, Department of Neurology, Department of Neurosurgery, Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy and Department of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.
MNC maintains vivid interactions with other research clusters of the Medical University of Vienna, including the Medical Imaging, Oncology and Immunology Research clusters as well as other research institutes in the greater Vienna area. MNC members participate in teaching activities at all levels, including in the graduate programme in Medicine, as well as postgraduate training in basic medical research and medical clinical research.
