Description
The Center for Addiction Research & Science (AddRess) aims at achieving two goals:
(i) to coordinate addiction research at the Medical University and
(ii) to increase the awareness of the public towards addiction and addictive substances.
The researchers will jointly address problems arising from "new psychoactive substances" (so-called "designer drugs"), and from classical addictive substances (nicotine, alcohol, cannabis, cocaine, opioids). The unique expertise at the Medical University allows addressing drug-related questions by a variety of clinical and pre-clinical research methods. The mission of AddRess is to foster translational research to understand addiction and effects of addictive substances in humans.
