Description
The interest group “epilepsy“ (IGE) of the Medical Neuroscience Cluster (MNC) joins forces of clinical and preclinical scientists with the goal to epilepsy research. Researchers being involved are trained in clinical (neurology, neurosurgery, radiology, pediatrics) as well as preclinical disciplines (physiology, neuropathology, pharmacology, imaging) and provide an unique expertise in a variety of research methods ranging from neuroimaging, neurophysiology, genetics, molecular and cell biology to behavioural neurobiology. The mission of FGE is to facilitate translational research that will ultimately lead to substantial progress in the understanding of mechanisms, diagnosis, and treatment options in human epilepsies.
