Description

Our research interests focus on societal consequences of mental disorders, mental health services research and psychiatric epidemiology for identifying risk factors for developing mental illness. Further, we are performing studies on the potential influences of social networks and the society on persons suffering from mental illness. Families as potential resource for mentally ill persons are investigated, too.

For this purpose, we develop research instruments (e.g. interviews, questionnaires) and analyse their validity and reliability. We are performing surveys on the prevalence of psychiatric disorders and analyse such data. In addition, studies are performed how better psychiatric care could be provided.
